pirelli mt66 ROUTE - 15" avenger tyre review
Hey guys, Hope everyone is rocking and driving. some months back I was looking for new set of tyres for my avenger. The earlier tyres which were MRF gave me good results on my trips which include mountains, off roads, long continouis running hours, wet roads, driving in rain and bad roads, in mud pools almost all type of terrain. This time I was looking for something new for a change but back in mind i somehow knew I will buy the same tyres as I I was quite happy with them. I did some research on internet but couldnt find much info I was looking about so I thought lets go to karol bagh and check out myself whats in the market and then research according to it.
When I went to karol bagh and looked around for tyres there were not many option for my 15"rear tyre but were many for 17" tyres. After some looking around I found my MRF tyres which were previously there. I enquired about it and he was selling me both front and rear MRF tyre in around Rs 2000 something. Then he looked at my tyre and said that your tyre still have rubber on it why u changing, I said I go on trips and all that, he quickly understood my reason and my need, he said "Rukko mein kuch dikhata hun" (wait I show u something). He got this tyres which were awesome looking and had an aura of something classy and tough. This was M66 pirelli Route tyres, man they looked awesome and immediately MRF looked dwarf in front of them in quality and aura. They were soft compound tyres and were made for sticky nature on roads. I was much impressed with them and decided to go with them without thinking twice. They were double the rate of MRF but
for my trips I need the best of the lot. Soon they fixed the new tyres on my bike and I was ready to rock and roll. To be honest when I came from karol bagh to my home almost 40 km I didnt fely any difference. but they really looked good and gave a feeling of tyres for touring.
At my first trip with them towards tattapani in Himachal I really got to know the difference of these tyres from my old ones. After these tyre get heated oh man they stick to road like eternal lovers. The soft compound material of these tyre really give a grip on banking and turning. Earlier on turns with MRF tyres when I use to bend bikes at speeds of 60-80 kms on turns I never had really a feeling developed in me that they might slip , though they never did really but still there was a feeling. Whenver there was a slight mud, or tiny stones on the turn which you many times see on the corners in mountain roads I always use to slow down really but sometimes my old Tyre use to slip a slight on them while me bending but I use to control it. With these tyre that thing is almost gone they grip road amazingly. With there soft compound nature these also gives extra softness in the ride. They are not hard to surface and me but rather sticky to road and soft on me.To explain it imagine u punching a wall or punching a mattress, wall will hurt u and all the deformation will be in your hand but in case of mattress ur mattress for some moment will take the shape of your hand and then releases back it smoothly. Same happens with tyre when the encounter stuff lying on the road.
Braking have also improved with these tyre but yeah I can say with sticky nature it generates more friction so might be very little mileage loss but its negligible.
In case of rain or wet surfaces they are even better, the groves design and the element make it such a fun and stable in wet conditions. I have tried them in almost all condition with already 4000 km on them and I have loved it every single moment.
Conclusion:
pros:
1: stable
2: stick to road even on high inclinations.
3: extremelly good under wet condition
4: look cool
cons:
for some its expensive.(but they are worth it).
